Upper Flood Swallet

Access

MCG manage access to Upper Flood Swallet on behalf of the landowner. In return, we have agreed to provide leaders so that anyone wishing to visit the cave may do so.

Suitable clothing must be worn - the diggers prefer PVC oversuits and neofleeces, but others have done the trip in wetsuits. Gloves and a balaclava are recommended. Depending on water levels, the Lavatory Trap can be easily passable or almost a sump. A trip to the far end and back typically lasts some 6 hours. It is advisable to take food and drink. The tightest squeeze is 23cm over a distance of 30cm.
